Fabien Tiburce (email, blog) has been architecting, developing and integrating custom software applications since 1994. Fabien is a software development process expert with 15 years of experience gathering requirements and producing functional and technical specifications for software applications.
At National Grocers (1994-1996), Fabien gained hands-on experience with the design and implementation of large databases and data warehouses.
As a consultant for CGI (1996-1998), he was exposed to the company's development methodology and ISO 9000 certified project management framework. Fabien created electronic commerce applications for three large law firms, the Canadian Standards Association, as well as Bell Canada.
As Director of Application Development for Frameworks Communications (1998-1999), he was responsible for system architecture and team leadership. He developed an online publisher for the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and an online asset tracking application for Newcourt Services (now CIT).
Fabien founded Betterdot Systems in 1999 to pursue excellence and innovation in custom enterprise software. Betterdot has been responsible for analysis, architecture, development and integration of software for some of Canada's most successful companies.
Fabien was born and raised in Paris, France where he attended Saint-Martin de France (1988-1990). Fabien moved from France to Kalamazoo, Michigan then Toronto, Ontario in 1991, on an academic scholarship. He has a BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Toronto where he attended St. Michael's College (class of 1994).
Fabien is bilingual (French & English). He is an avid outdoors enthusiast and hiker, as well as a passionate bird-watcher and backyard astronomer.
